Since the 1960s, Han Chungshik has made great efforts throughout his life, not only as a photographer but also as an educator representing Korean photography, to lay the foundation for ‘Korean photographic art’ based on Korea’s unique spirituality and Eastern philosophy. In addition, based on his philosophical explorations and questions about the essence of existence without being bound by the shape of the object, he has steadily presented “Goyo” works for the past 20 years, starting with the Kumho Museum of Art’s “Goyo” exhibition in 2002, along with his photography art books. “Goyo” conducts optimum and fruitful roles as the root and the head stone in Korean photography with Han’s various art photography, his photography theory books, and writings.
We look forward to hearing from anyone who would like to join us in organizing and disseminating works of Han Chungshik, which immanent to the inherent value and meaning of photography.
Thank you.
